Public

The first paragraph of a public story has to hold

A specific relationship, one limit, one unfinished sentence. Empty tags do nothing.

The blurb is tension, not a word list

Who they are to other people, and what is still unsaid with the user. Two sentences.

Do not use labels anyone could wear as the only introduction.

The opening has to be answerable

A place, an action, a line of speech. The reader needs to know where they stand before they can reply.

The opening voice matches the library. A cold blurb and a clinging first line will drift.

Tags name a relationship

Use the relationship and the limit: old friends, cannot be public, only this night. That is easier to find than a single word like “sweet”.

Do not tag what the service forbids, and do not dodge a limit with a lookalike spelling.
