Open the branch on the chapter where the decision changes. The old chapter remains.
A new fact on this line does not go into a library the other line also uses, unless it is true on both.
Someone else’s public story
You can open a branch on a public story and change what happens next. After the author accepts it, that text belongs to the story.
Acceptance is the author’s. An unaccepted branch does not become the main line by itself.
Reward and words
A reward is only after acceptance. It depends on the story’s attention and on what the app shows. Opening a branch is not itself a payout.
Writing still spends words, in the same order: daily free, rewards, gifts, purchases.
