Writing

Before you start, write the relationship you want

Relationship, limits, one scene. Plot comes after those three.

Write what happens

Do not stop at “gentle, faithful, direct”. Write how they meet your mood, how they spend a day, and what counts as crossing a line.

Your own form of address, and topics you do not want raised, go in the library too.

Limits before plot

Everyone in the story is an adult. Do not write minors, and do not put minors in the relationship.

Write what must not happen in short lines. A busy plot does not get to cross them.

Start from one scene

Rain, a carriage, a mask, snow. Write this night before a thirty-year biography.

Only the past event that changes this night goes in the library. Add the rest when a chapter needs it.
